On Wednesday, July 23, Caltrans Project Manager Mauricio Serrano and Senior Resident Engineer Geoffrey Wright provided the Willits City Council with a Willits Bypass Project update. The update included the following:
The realignment of Haehl Creek and fish passage improvement work has begun and is anticipated to be completed by mid-September.
Due to the US Army Corps of Engineer’s permit suspension, the south interchange will not be completed this year; it will be completed next summer.
All the reaming viaduct bents, or columns, will be completed by October.
At the north interchange a final utility relocation will be completed soon, and moving in fill will begin as soon as Mendocino Forest Products obtains their grading permit from Mendocino County.
